3rd Night of Tourism Bages recognizes the work of Ferran Climent in front of Geoparks
Ferran Climent, Scientific Director of UNESCO World Geopark Central Catalonia is leading the 3rd Night of Tourism Bages Bages Promotion organized by the association to be held this evening at Montserrat. Bages Promotion considered that the Geopark, which has become one of the mainstays of tourism in Bages, has a bright future. In 2012, what was then Geological and Mining Park of Central Catalonia -and that had been driven by the County Council Bages- was accepted to join the European Network of Geoparks. In 2015 it was recognized by UNESCO in October and exceeded the revalidation process by international experts. Currently the only Unesco World Geopark in Catalonia.
Among the different sites and elements of this identity are the Caves Geopark Montserrat Collbató; Coves del Toll in Moià; Basin saline Cardona and Suria; and present reliefs of ancient deltas of Montserrat and Sant Llorenç.
Dinner 3rd Night of Tourism will own the Ignatian kitchen. The team of chefs prepare a Hotel Abat Cisneros Montserrat World San Benito, Parador de Cardona Mas Sala, who already coordinated in previous years.
In the first edition, Sallent, recognized the work of Father José Luis Iriberri, Jesuit, on condition of promoter of Ignatian Way; and second, to Cardona, the prize went to Joan Soler, president of the Council of the Pla de Bages.
This year's Night of Tourism serves as a closure of the first Conference of the Ignatian Way Gatronòmiques and Food Fair of Geoparks, driven by Manresa City Council and the County Council respectively.
