Restoring the dolmen of Puig Rodo Geoparks in Central Catalonia
The Archaeology Department of the Generalitat of Catalonia, with the support of the Museum of Moià restores the dolmen of Puig Rodo. The restoration work begun on 2 November 2016 and early 2017 will last.
The Archaeological Service of the Generalitat of Catalonia has hired the company Artes Arqueòlegs.Cat for the restoration of the monument. In addition to highly qualified staff of this company, Arqueòlegs.Cat offers advice on the restoration of the dolmen pre-historian and archaeologist Josep Tarrús and cheeks highest authority megalithic monuments in Catalonia.
The work began early this November, and currently is under the re-excavation of archaeological inside the dolmen and tumulus. Recall that since 1961 this dolmen was excavated by archaeologist Ricardo Batista supported Moianès Joan Surroca. Once finished the excavations will be the restoration of the monument and adequacy of space around making it accessible to the public and with panels that complement the free visit to the monument.
